Chess Coach (listed on the App Store as “CheesCoach: AI Chess Coach”) is a chess training app for Android and iOS published by JuanfranDevs. By using the app you accept these terms. On iOS, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies; on Android, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to the download and to payments.
How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
The app lets you play against bots, review your games, solve puzzles, follow courses and labs, and play online. The AI coach writes its comments with third-party language models: they help you understand a position, but they can be wrong. When the coach and the engine disagree, trust the engine. Chess Coach does not promise any particular rating or result.
Most of the app works without an account. Some features (the AI coach with credits, online play, syncing your progress, purchases linked to your account) need you to sign in with Google or Apple. Keep access to that account secure; what is done with it is your responsibility. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account, as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you connect your own key from an AI provider, your requests go to that provider under your agreement with them, and any cost is charged by them, not by us.
Play fair: do not use engines or outside help in online games, do not abuse the clock or the matchmaking, and choose a nickname that does not offend anyone or impersonate someone. We may change a nickname, adjust ratings, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Do not try to get around the limits of the free or paid features, use the backend with automated tools, or interfere with the service or with other players.
The app, its courses, texts and design belong to JuanfranDevs. Some components are open source and keep their own licenses, listed on the open-source page. Your games are yours.
We keep improving the app, so features can change. Online features may be paused for maintenance. We will try to give notice of important changes, but we cannot guarantee the service will always be available or free of errors.
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer. These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the protection the law of your country of residence gives you.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. For any question, write to juanfrandevs@gmail.com.
