How it works
The opponent plays first; then it is your turn. Find the best move, and keep going until the combination is over. A wrong move does not end the puzzle: try again, but it already counts as missed. Any checkmate counts, even one that is not the stored answer. No account: your rating goes up when you solve and down when you miss, and the next puzzle matches it.
What you will train
Forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks, mates in one and in two, sacrifices and endgame technique. Every puzzle comes from a real game, from beginner level to master, and when you solve it you see which theme it was.
Tactics decide most games below 2000: one missed fork or one undefended piece. Solving a few puzzles a day trains your eye to see them in your own games.
The puzzle of the day
Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, chosen from positions rated around 1000 to 1600. It does not change your rating: it is a short daily habit.
